Lydden Hill Rallycross Track was born in 1955 and was originally used for stock cars racing. The tarmac surface appeared in 1965 and was first raced upon by the Formula 3 cars. Lydden is now most famous for hosting British round of the European Rallycross Championship bringing large crowds and providing some of the best spectating in the counrty. Lydden Hill was owned by McLaren and have just scrapped plans to convert it into a F1 testing ground and then former Rallycross driver Pat Doran bourght the circuit making much need improvements and now hosts a round of the British Rallycross Championship.
